Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Race Information

*Due to the GST transition, we will accept payments after April 1, 2013. Payment must be received by April 30th, 2013 to qualify for the Early Bird Rate. Teams paying registration fees after April 30th will be charged the regular rate (regardless of the date of registration). All team members are encouraged to review our complete Rules and Regulations. Teams must agree to these rules and regulations in order to register for the Festival. Race Course Map All fees are in Canadian Dollars. Registration is not completed until payment is received in full. The Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Society reserves the right to request immediate payment in the event that registration sells out. Cheques should be made out to Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Society and mailed to: Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Society PO Box 1234 - 621 Discovery St. Victoria, BC V8W 2T6 CANADA Online payment will be available after April 1, 2013. Withdrawal Policy and Refunds: There is a 15% administrative fee for all withdrawals. The final withdrawal date is July 1st 2013. After July 1st 2013 there will be no refunds. Dragon Boat Canada Qualifying Regatta: The 2013 Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival is a Dragon Boat Canada Qualifying Regatta. Teams must inform the Race Registrar by email: Race@victoriadragonboat.com no later than August 9, 2013 if they intend to qualify for Dragon Boat Canada Club/National Crew. Women's Crews attending the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival as a qualifier must have a female steersperson to comply with DBC rules and regulations.

Waivers: All participating team members must complete a waiver form in order to compete in the Festival. Digital waiver forms are part of our online registration system for all adult team members with unique e-mail addresses (see Registration System FAQ). A printed, adult waiver is available for those team members not able to use the online registration system. Junior (under 19) paddlers must submit a manual waiver signed by a parent or guardian in order to take part in the Festival. Festival waivers are available for download through the online registration system or by clicking on the links below: 2013 Adult Paddler Printed Waiver 2013 Junior Paddler Printed Waiver Paddler's Village: All registered teams will be provided with a designated space within the tents of our Paddler's Village. Each team member receives a wristband for the weekend and, in addition to allowing you to race, it also allows you access to the Village. Access to Paddler's Village is restricted to those persons identified on your team's roster. We graciously acknowledge the support of the Maritime Forces Pacific, CFB Esquimalt and the Navy Dragon Anchors through the provision and set up of the Paddler's Village tents. Team Rosters: All team rosters will have a maximum of 26 people plus 1 non-participating member (Manager, etc.) allowed. This includes one drummer and one steersperson. Mixed teams must have a minimum of 8 female paddlers. Women's teams are only allowed men on the roster in the drummer or steersperson position. In order to race, teams must have a minimum of 16 paddlers, 1 drummer and 1 steersperson. The maximum number of paddlers allowed is 20.
