Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Volunteer Registration

Volunteers play key roles in the success of the Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival. Diverse opportunities are available over the festival weekend and in the months leading up to this premier summer event.

Over the course of the event, 500 volunteers will put in more than 4,000 hours to make the 2013 Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival a success. Volunteers help with almost every kind of task, from greeting visitors at the Info Tent to helping paddlers into and out of the dragon boats. From Thursday, August 15, when the Site Crew first begins to build the site to Sunday, August 18, when the last Tear-Down shift completes, volunteers are the driving force behind this fantastic summer event.

What jobs are available?

Think about what times you will be available over the Festival, and what areas you are interested in volunteering with. Some areas fill up quickly, so please choose two or three crews you might like to help with.

How do I apply?

Next, complete a Volunteer Application Form online here.

Volunteer applications will be read and received, and applicants will be assigned to volunteer shifts that suit their interests and schedule.

When am I volunteering?

Check back to see what shifts you have been scheduled for. Once your application is approved, you will receive login credentials for Vic Net, the scheduling page. You can log in to check your schedule here.

What will I be doing?

Finally, attend one of two orientation sessions. Volunteer Orientation is mandatory for all volunteers. At Volunteer Orientation, you will learn policy and procedures needed to complete your volunteer job as well as specific instructions for the volunteer crew you will be working on.
